Salt Spring Home & Garden Show – March 17th & 18th, 2017 – A Great Success!

Salt Spring Island’s New Home & Garden Show last weekend was a resounding success in attracting attendance of 350 on Friday night and 950 on Saturday.   Over 40 businesses including specialized trades, financial services, retail, alternative energy, building supplies and community service and volunteer organizations had the opportunity to “show and tell” islanders and their friends about their products and services, all available locally.   This event was supported by the 320 members of the Salt Spring Chamber of Commerce.

At a time when we are getting excited about new projects and freshening up our gardens and homes, there were many ideas on display to inspire a Spring-time theme of creativity indoors and out.

Thank you to Mouat’s Trading for being Presenting Sponsor and to Slegg Lumber, Windsor Plywood for their sponsorship, and the Driftwood for providing such an excellent promotional insert last week.  We also send a big thank you to all the other generous sponsors and the vendors, their families and the volunteers that brought the Home & Garden Show so much success.  These community organizations not only bring us their products and services but provide employment and support to many islanders, community groups and families.

A special “Thank you” for her endless efforts in organizing and driving so many of the event’s details goes to Janet Clouston, our tireless Chamber Executive Director. A big thank you also to Cheryl Roehlig, Event Coordinator, Chamber staff Gail Beattie and Len Brown and the many volunteers who helped with this event.  Thank you also to Barry and the Farmers Institute for being such great hosts!

Salt Spring Chamber of Commerce brings Business and Community together…because “we need each other” to provide a balanced life on Salt Spring!
