Our “silver” re-accreditation was made official on August 3rd. We are proud to be working within this program to promote Salt Spring Island’s reputation as an eco-friendly destination where business and nature work together in harmony!

2018 Annual General Meeting was held on June 6th at the Lion’s Hall – New Board of Directors and Executive Elected!
The Salt Spring Chamber AGM was held on Wednesday, June 6th from 5:30 to 6:30. We reviewed the past year's activities and events, provided a financial report and conducted an election of Directors for 2018/19. A Member Mixer followed with great networking, food and a cash bar.
Thank you for joining us for the Weekend of Action Saturday, April 21st and Sunday, April 22nd coinciding Earth Day Celebrations. It ended with a gathering in Centennial Park for Earth Day. Starting at 9 am and going until 3 pm on Saturday and 3 pm on Sunday. On Saturday we focused on the harbour and beach clean up and on Sunday we focused on Ganges Village. The event will wrap up at Earth Day Celebrations in Centennial park going from noon to 5 pm.
Salt Spring Island's 2018 Home & Garden Show last weekend was a resounding success in attracting attendance of 1350 from Friday evening through Sunday afternoon. Over 40 businesses including specialized trades, financial services, retail, alternative energy, building supplies and community service and volunteer organizations had the opportunity to "show and tell" islanders and their friends about their products and services, all available locally. This event was supported by the 320 members of the Salt Spring Chamber of Commerce.
We are happy to announce that the GISS Culinary Program is the recipient of part proceeds from the Chamber of Commerce hosted Sip & Savour Salt Spring. The event, a part of the Harvest Festival, took place October 21st at the Farmers Institute. The donation of $500 was presented in front of a giant Culinary Program logo at the High School on Dec. 21st.
Its the time of year again for the Salt Spring Community & Business Awards! Winners will receive a Salty Award and 30 awards will be given out two areas – Community and Business. You can also vote in the "Fun and Games" category. Salt Spring residents and fans are nominating and voting for the winners through our on-line process!
