Did you know? Salt Spring Island hosted over 90 weddings in 2024, yet many couples are booking off-island vendors simply because they’re unaware of our talented local vendors and venues.

For 2025, we’re all about strengthening connections in Salt Spring’s wedding industry. The more we work together, the more resilient and successful we all become! Our goal is to help local vendors connect with each other, so more couples book right here on the island first—only looking off-island if absolutely necessary. By planning ahead as a community, we can make this wedding season (and future ones) even better for everyone.

Join us on March 1st from 1:00 to 4:30 pm for an intimate industry mixer where Salt Spring’s wedding professionals can connect, collaborate, and strengthen our local wedding community.

And in true wedding industry style, to do this, we’re throwing a little afternoon soiree on Saturday, March 1st from 1 – 4:30pm at Mateada – which is also a fabulous venue for weddings and receptions! We’ve got a lovely time planned with mouth watering nibbles and drinks provided by Chef Deb, Vivezza Winery and SSI Mead. Fun and low stakes mixer and ice breaker so that everyone in the room connects and gets to meet one another. A discussion about the hot topics on the minds of Salt Spring Wedding Vendors including the folks from Kinder Weddings + Billie Woods – Photographer, Wedding Planner + saltspringweddings.ca. Salt Spring Photo Booth will also be setup onsite for some fun photos! And professional headshots for every attendee to boot – thanks to Folklore Wedding Company!
